Worldwide Webb is a pixel-based MMORPG that challenges players to navigate a dystopian future where the real-world economy has moved onto the blockchain, all forms of currency are digital. Players must exist within a mixed reality world where the virtual and physical are linked in profound and unsettling ways. Are you a fighter? Taking on high-stakes gameplay and battling the world's raids and instances to get rare loot, or a building? Leveling up your skills to craft the best tools, and weapons to be the biggest business in the game. Or are you a speculator, using your insights to gain wealth and power within the virtual world?

The choice is yours, and the fate of the virtual world and the real world rests in your hands.

Worldwide Webb is a browser-based MMORPG set in a futuristic world where players can use their own avatars from other games and brand IPs. The game allows players to interact with each other in a hyper virtual video game and level up their characters to take on challenges and gain control.

The first build of the game was released in November 2021 and we are still in our early-access alpha.

In the past, one of the major challenges of the digital world was figuring out how to assign value to things that existed only in the virtual realm. How could you put a price on an item that had no physical form or scarcity?

It was here that blockchain technology emerged as a game-changer. By minting all in-game items and avatars onto the blockchain, the game is able to ensure that players truly own their items and can limit their supply to maintain their rarity. This also allows for a trustless decentralized way for true ownership, as the blockchain provides a permanent record of who owns what.

Thanks to the blockchain, items in the game can be just as scarce and valuable as their physical counterparts. And with the ability to create unique and customized virtual spaces, players can create a world that is truly their own, with assets that hold real value in the digital space.

This has transformed the way that people think about the digital world, allowing them to replace real-world things with virtual counterparts. The game offers a truly unique and immersive experience, where players can interact with one another and with the world around them in ways that were once thought impossible. And with the blockchain as the foundation of this virtual world, the possibilities are truly limitless.

In the not-so-distant future, society has been consumed by social media and mobile phones, with people losing touch of reality and what it means to truly connect with others. It was at this critical juncture that a visionary named Thomas Webb stepped forward, determined to use technology to reconnect humanity.

Webb had long been obsessed with the power of video games, viewing them not as mere entertainment, but as a way for people to connect with one another through shared experiences. As such, he set out to build a game that would provide a hyper-realistic and immersive virtual environment where players could interact with each other in ways that were impossible in the real world.

To accomplish this, Webb created the Worldwide Webb, a massive network of interconnected servers and databases that spanned the globe. With this infrastructure in place, he was able to build a game that was truly unprecedented in scope and ambition.

The game takes place in a future where everyone has displays in their eyes that allow them to see virtual augmentations over the real world. Players are able to don their own avatars, creating unique identities for themselves and entering a world that is as limitless as their imaginations.

In this world, players can level up and take on challenges to gain control, much like in the classic sci-fi novel “Ready Player One.” To help him manage this vast and complex virtual world, Webb created an AI called DR Sakamoto, which watched over the game and ensured that everything ran smoothly.

But the real power of the game lies in the hands of the players themselves. Those who hold land in the game can create their own businesses and stations, allowing other players to level up and craft new items. They are the bedrock of the game’s economy, where players must collaborate to take on raids and boss fights to earn super rare and powerful items.

For players, the game offers an unprecedented level of customization and control. They can wear any avatar they want, from the fantastical to the mundane, and they can create their own virtual spaces, displaying their NFT collections on the walls and hosting parties for their friends.

And with the game constantly evolving and expanding, there is always something new and exciting for players to discover. From battling bosses in the depths of a cyber dungeon to crafting their own magical potions, the possibilities in this game are limited only by the players’ own imaginations.

Thomas Webb is a contemporary artist, hacker, video game developer and TEDx speaker based in London. His works explore the unexplored applications of technology as a method for visualising digital culture.

He has drawn the likes of Virgil Abloh and Hans Ulrich Obrist into a world where art meets gaming and NFTs. He has been featured in GQ Magazine’s ‘Into The Webb’ series.

Thomas is passionate about using code to express himself and believes that technology can be used to create meaningful art.

Players can wear any avatar they want in the game due to NFT technology, which allows anyone to play as anything they have in their crypto wallet. This is a trustless decentralized way for true identity.

Landholders stimulate the game economy in the game. Our plan is for landholders to be able to create virtual businesses and stations that allow other players to level up and craft new items. They are the a key aspect of the future game economy, where players will have to collaborate to take on raids and boss fights to earn super rare and powerful items with landholders.

The small apartments are priced at 0.069ETH with 5000 supply.

Medium apartments are priced at 0.138ETH with 3000 supply.

Large apartments are priced at 0.276ETH with 1000 supply.

Penthouses are priced at 1ETH with 69 supply.

Landholders play a significant role in the game economy by creating virtual businesses and stations that allow normal players to level up and craft new items. They can use their apartments to build forges, crafting shops, and potion labs, and other players can enter and pay to use these landholder stations.

Apartments can be token gated by wallet address, token ID, or collection. This feature allows NFT collections to create a virtual space and token gate it so that only members of their collection can enter. They can act as the guild base for future guilds.
